About THE SoFIA…

The South Florida Institute on Aging (The SoFIA) is a women led, grassroots nonprofit organization who is focused on providing equitable and quality services to the lives of the aging community and their families in South Florida. With services that help seniors bridge gaps between them and their communities, The SoFIA is able to enrich the lives of seniors in South Florida as well as those around them. Our services provide ways for seniors to enlighten future generations with their wisdom, receive technical training in order to navigate through todays digital environment.

In addition, support caregivers caring for their loved ones, companionship to isolated individuals or with disabilities, veterans & military families and support to our community centers. The SoFIA currently serves more than 1500 people a year and engages more than 500 older adult volunteers virtually and in person through our services.
