How does a virtual symposium work?
SoFIA has created a virtual event experience that is as close what you might expect in person as possible. Travel is no longer a concern as you can connect easily through the web or via an app on your mobile phone.
The virtual experience is designed to easily allow you to find and attend your sessions of interest. Sponsors and vendors benefit from a virtual booth, which allows them to connect with any attendee, share their products and services, and set up one-on-one meetings.
Networking is now easier than ever: AI technology recommends other attendees you may be interested in meeting based on shared interest and industry.
How do I register for the symposium?

How do I access the event platform?
The SoFIA Events platform is available both online and as a mobile app for Apple and Android phones. To access the event on the web, go to http://bit.ly/AISFEventPlatform. Enter the email address you used at registration to access the site.
On the platform you will be able to update your profile, add sessions to your schedule, view speaker bios and sponsors, and schedule 1:1 meetings to network with other attendees, speakers, and sponsor.

How do I download and and access the event app?
Download the mobile app for Apple and Android. Use the email your registered with to access app content.
How do I sign up to attend sessions?
To sign up to attend a session you will need to add it to your schedule:
On the online event platform or web app, simply go the “Schedule” tab.
Click on each session to read its description and information about the speakers.
There are two ways to add a session to your schedule:
In the main “Sessions” page you will see an icon with a plus sign next to each session. Click on it to add it to your schedule.
-OR-
Click on the session you are interested in. Press the orange “Register” button to add it to your schedule.
You can see all of the sessions you are registered for under the “My Event” tab.
How can I contact other attendees, speakers, or vendors to network?
You can connect with other attendees, speakers, and vendors through both the online event platform and the mobile app:
From the main page, click on either the Attendees, Speakers, or Sponsors tab.
Click on each person’s name to access their profile.
To connect, click the orange “Book a Meeting” button to schedule a 1:1 meeting with them. Their available time slots will be listed on their profile.
-OR-
Click on the icon with a plus sign that is found right under their name. You will be able to send them a message to connect. This is similar to adding someone to your network on LinkedIn.
